Definitely Buick about 1968. Edit: Seeing that is actual chrome, I would say Skylark using only this image as reference: http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/main.php?g2_itemId=9662 -- Last edit: 2008-05-16 00:57:22 |

No, the chrome trim you're talking about was available as an option on the LeSabre and Wildcat too. On this picture, it seems that the one on the driver's door is gone. Here's a '68 LeSabre with the same moulding. ![]() If you're wondering why I know it's a 1968 Wildcat with base trim. first it's a Wildcat because it lacks the portholes and it has the chrome trim on the hood (the LeSabre lacks it). It's a '68 because of the shape of the hood and the shape of the rearview mirror. The steering wheel is the one with the large horn pad, the Wildcat Custom has a fancier steering wheels. here's a clearer view of the steering wheel of the base model '68 Wildcat, LeSabre Custom and LeSabre (base LeSabre shown). This one was also used in some Special, Skylark, SportWagon and GS models. ![]() The steering wheel of the '68 Wildcat Custom, Electra and Riviera. It was the only steering wheel offered on these models and it wasn't offered on other models. ![]() |

Thank you, indeed, philr! All I really had was the square rear-view mirror, as the 67's seem to have come with round ones, and I couldn't make out if the nose of the car was pointed as on 68's or nearly straight as on 67's. |

The 1967 had a more pointed nose than the 1968. Here's a picture of my former 1967 Wildcat. ![]() Here's another one that shows one in better condition. ![]() |
