The thumbnail shows that the other car has a sticker of the Portuguese MOT equivalent, so it's a 1980 Cortina Estate MkV. These were sold in 1.6 L form and I think they were assembled in Portugal at the now closed Azambuja plant. |

The Cortinas MkIV and V were sold this way in Portugal and not as Taunus. They were also sold as Cortina in UK and not only in Portugal. |

The Taunus models were also sold in Portugal when they were different from the Cortina. Nevertheless, when the Cortina MkIV and the Taunus [TC2] became only rebadged twins, the name Cortina was retained for Portugal ( the same also happened with the MkV and the [TC3] ). I guess it happened because the different Cortina models were always strong sellers here. |
