Is that a cat I see atop the radiator? |

johnfromstaffs, I don't know if it's a cat, but there is certainly something atop the radiator:![]() We don't really get a good view of this car. The only time the camera is still is when the car is quite small and/or very dark you can't see much. This is just about the best view of it (there's too much reflection of the light in later frames): ![]() This car is actually used in a chase scene, but is chasing a pedestrian, not another car. It's a short scene and its occupants are minor characters, so I'm not sure if this makes it a *** rather than a **. You can also see it in this thumb that I posted in the comment on the main page: ![]() Incidentally, if I were a betting man I'd say that was a G on the license plate. -- Last edit: 2023-02-27 17:16:53 |

I think it’s GYO, London 1943-46. The difficulty is whether the make is S.S. or Jaguar. |

The license plate is slightly clearer here and the letter's lower left seems to suggest a "D":![]() Not that I want to start an argument or anything. -- Last edit: 2023-02-27 18:07:10 |

No arguments from me. We can now, at least, be sure of the date from the plate. By the way, we don’t have “license plates” in U.K. They do not prove that the car is licensed, which has to be paid every year, they prove the car’s identity, and the address of its owner. They generally stay, unchanged, until the car is scrapped. -- Last edit: 2023-02-27 18:25:50 |
