Could this be Mercury or Meteor -- Last edit: 2008-05-28 05:28:18 (car nerd) |

It's a full size Mercury. All trim pieces have been painted over. |

I think you're right. This appears to be a Canadian Meteor. Can our Canadian friends confirm this? -- Last edit: 2008-05-28 05:30:49 |

This is from 1965. Would this be a Meteor Rideau.?? |

Yes, you're right: http://www.mercuryarchive.com/1965to1968/1965MeteorRideau2dr.jpg -> Mercury Meteor Rideau 1965 |

Now I am confused. I thought Meteor was similar to Ford and Monarch similar to Mercury. This being a Canadian Meteor, I don't believe that "Mercury" was a part of the name. Comments? |

Here is the reference on Canadian version of Mercury Meteor naming convention as described at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_Meteor#Canadian_Meteor . Then should we listed made in Canada? |

This is not a Mercury Meteor Rideau, it's simply a Meteor Rideau. They were a companion make to Fords in Canada and sold at Ford dealers. Only 2,189 Meteor Rideau 2 door sedans were made in '65. |
