Diesel sound. Anachronistic because they were adopted since 1996 (I believe this one is also older?), and if diesel wrong because they had a specific petrol 2.0, at least in the 90s. |

Seems to have the Land Rover 90 script on the grille |

That's interesting, I didn't know this, I thought they use diesel models |

In later years they used them, but early batches were 2.0 petrol ones |

Yes - Carabinieri got unique petrol edition in 1994-95 in Defender 90 with window hardtops, using 2.0 Mpi M16 from Discovery, 134 bhp and apparently "rather good to drive". However L-R persuaded them to take diesels on further batches. But I think this is earlier 90, pre-Defender with Land Rover 90 grille bade as mentioned and ribbed roof so before Dec 88. Unless there's a view of door handles or any info on late 80s Carabinieri batches, default to June 84 for 90 launch. And various diesels were available. |

For sure there weren't previous Carabinieri batches in the 80s, so this would be a prop |

I did wonder if real Carabinieri would have a windscreen sticker - we used to see them in UK on clapped-out boyracer Novas and Fiestas saying things like Kevin and Sharon. |
