I've never heard of one of these in the US? But then again, it was before my time. I'll have to check my guides to see what was sold here. |

Found a 1959 US brochure on eBay, the models were named "Super Deluxe" with the chrome trim, or just plain "Deluxe" without on the 4-door models. The other models listed are the "Oceane Convertible", the "Plein Ciel Hardtop" and the "Chatelaine Station Wagon" https://www.ebay.com/itm/165620033955 -- Last edit: 2023-03-27 01:18:08 |

I'm 300 miles away from my Standard Catalog at the moment so can't check, but I think it has entries for US Simcas from about 1954 for the earlier ugly Aronde, then this prettier generation, followed by the 60s stuff we're more familiar with. |

Mine's just one floor above me. I forgot to grab it when I was upstairs to do laundry. |

According to the two guides that I have, they sold two versions of the Aronde in 1959. The brochure I shared was the old version. And then the new one arrived mid-1959. Now the Standard Catalog lists the models for the second series of 1959: Elysee 4-door Montlhéry 4-door Grand Large 2-htp Monaco 2-htp Etoile 4-door However, in the 1960 brochure, the 4-doors are listed as Etoile for the base sedan, and Elysee for the fancier one. |

Looking better, I realise that this is actually a hardtop and not a sedan - so a Monaco (which used Montlhéry trim). |

Brochure didn't list Monaco, but here is the Grand Large hardtop page: |
