The Canadian version, the 1960-only Frontenac  ![[Image: 1960frontenac.jpg]](http://pics.imcdb.org/17801/23/1960frontenac.jpg) Though the Frontenac never made it past 1960, in August of that year, a prototype 1961 Frontenac was driven through Canada on a press tour that would have culminated in a photo shoot, but when the Ford Canada employees tasked with driving it there arrived, they were informed that the Frontenac brand had been discontinued with 9'000+ Frontenacs sold, the 2nd best-selling compact car for the 1960 model year! Thank you, very interesting. I bought years ago a (quite rare I presume) 1960 Frontenac brochure, but I didn't know anything about this 1961 prototype. |
