Ratio is wrong (originally in movie the b/w pics are wider than these in color), I will change this. Edit: Done! -- Last edit: 2008-06-10 21:45:40 |

How does one tell if it is a 500 or a 540? It looks like a four seater cabriolet - Cabriolet C?? I think they A, B or C depending on seating etc. |

I think the pictures are still too stretched. ![]() |

I think DynaMike is right, this Mercedes appears to be a 540 K; by the absence of the large fold-down top, distinguishing it from any of the four-passenger Cabriolet versions, an Offener Tourenwagen. As I have just learned, it was a rarity even among the 540s. http://www.autogallery.org.ru/k/m/mbo3903.jpg Here we can see its rounded wind-up window as well: Link to "www.supercars.net" |

Yes, a Mercedes-Benz 540K Offener Tourenwagen [W29] (1936-39).![]() -- The image ratio should be adjusted to 120% height. ![]() |

Thanks Fortengo and Alexander! My hesitations were because of the missing roof, but I was not in the mood to start a profound search... And I didn't know there have been Offene Tourenwagen of the 540 K. |

I redtored the wood and body to one of these 1938 Mercedes 540K Offner Tourenwagons while at RM. There were only 2 made that year. The car is now Champagne with Wine colored top |

And it's this one? p.s: "Tourenwagen" without s, as it is a word with no plural. ![]() |
