Rabbit V & Golf VI for North America were made in Germany. Golf IV were made in Brazil. Golf VII were made in Mexico (Golf R were still made in Germany). Golf VIII is only sold as GTI or Golf R, made in Germany. Regular Golfs were discontinued.
