Is #6 the BRM Type 15 V16?? If so footage could be Reg Parnell at 1951 British Grand Prix if the other numbers match?? |

The other cars are rather fuzzy, but, to attack it from another angle, the 1.5 litre V-16 BRM in Mk1 guise, as seen above, took part in only 1 Grand Prix. The Mk2 didn’t take part in any. It certainly looks like a Type 15 Mk1. My first ever trip to Silverstone was in 1956, I have to say that I don’t recognise the track from this picture, but nor can I say it isn’t, we were in the brown enclosure on Copse Corner. -- Last edit: 2023-06-01 22:25:40 |

BTW, I don't know where the "1954" came from. It was there when I cropped the photo and I wasn't sure which car this was for. Chicomarx? |

1949 was the year they built the prototype , I’m still digging, but the 1.5litre supercharged/4.5litre normally aspirated formula died with the 1953 season, so no cars would have been new in 1954, would they? As far as I can see 2 Mk1s and 2 Mk2 were built. -- Last edit: 2023-06-01 22:33:22 |

I think 1954 is unjustifiable. If no one is upset by this I shall remove it. |

I didn't read this before but 1954 was entered by Bob not me. |

I've found the track - it's Goodwood (<= pic from 1957 Glover Trophy). But the Goodwood events in wiki's list of Type 15 appearances don't match the various racing nos - unless it's the 1953 Glover Trophy where they don't have an entry list, but that may be a dead end as well. This online pic of BRM #5 is described as 1953 Glover trophy ![]() ... but isn't. However if the #9 Maserati behind is the same #9 seen behind #5 above, it's the same Goodwood event. My brain hurts now. |
