Indeed! Wadham Stringer (Coachbuilders) Ltd. of Waterlooville, Hampshire, England, UK built a few of these. Austin 3 liter, London by Roger Greenaway |

Ah , I think all the emergency vehicles in ep.6.01 are from Bournemouth and they travel to I am guessing Bournemouth airport for a hijacking plot. So Hampshire is local. -- Last edit: 2023-06-11 22:08:52 |

Very rare - Wadham Stringer did 11 altogether which is the only conversion recorded in my 3-Litre bible (yes - there is one!). Picture looks similar. Some were usual ambulance services, others bought by factories (eg Lockheed Industries) for onsite use; apparently only 3 of the 11 were converted on new BMC factory-supplied cars. A handful of survivors - restos and derelicts. Here's period photo of London Ambulance Service example. |

Matter of perspective! I intended to write "... built maybe a handful of these", not knowing they built more than twice as many. |
