20/25? Like the British font on the number-plate! |

I was at a get together yesterday and saw a car the same as this. A 1939 Rolls-Royce 25/30 Wraith. At least that is what it said on its registration label. |

Umm. 25/30 was made 1936-8; Wraith 1938-9. Could well be one or the other, can't be both ![]() http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolls-Royce_Wraith -- Last edit: 2008-06-14 22:28:47 |

I will have to find the owner and find out what it is. If it is registered as a 1939 it would appear from what you say Chris that it would be a Wraith. |

If the car has independent front suspension it is a Wraith or could be a PIII, if there is an axle and cart springs it isn't. The coachwork looks a bit old fashioned for 1939, so my money is on a 25/30. Production 25/30 1201 PIII 710 Wraith 491 |

I agree the coachwork looks too old fashioned. When I saw the local car I was surprised to see that it was as late as 1939. I would have picked it for a few years earlier. Remember that buyers of Rolls-Royces were often very conservative and didn't want to be too avant-garde. -- Last edit: 2008-06-15 21:11:56 |

To the extent that some of them transferred coachwork from one chassis to a new one! |

This is a Phantom II, chassis #73JS, a Barker sal (div). After a spell in the USA, it returned to Spain in 2007 and it is currently for sale in Alcarcon, still bearing the M-43067 reg'n. |
