1971-74 Ford Cortina. I think Taunus had round headlamps |

Has nothing to do with the headlamps. Taunus and Cortina came with both configurations depending on the trim level. This headlamp arrangement is unique however. It is a Taunus GXL. -- Last edit: 2006-04-03 11:35:29 |

Junkman, as you send so often info in the comments, and help so much on the site, would you be interested in being admin to be able to make changes directly? (though you'd still have to post the info in the comments so we keep an "history" of the changes). If you are interested, contact me on " contact @ imcdb.org " ![]() |

I'm not sure if I'm not more hindrance than help. Often I get the cars grossly wrong. I mean, we have a 20-page backlog and I can't identify a single vehicle there. -- Last edit: 2006-04-03 16:58:21 |

Junkman is cognizant: the right car is exact Taunus GXL 2000 or 2300 cm2 V6 engine, the Cortina had little rounded body! Only 2 round (/vehicle_224-Ford-Taunus-TC1-1971.html) or 2 rectangle (/vehicle_107662-Ford-Taunus-TC1-1971.html) headlamps had Taunus L, XL with 1300, 1600 or 1800 cm2 engines. Only GXL had black leather roof. -- Last edit: 2007-08-22 23:09:55 |

Why it's listed as a Coupé? The shape looks more like the Sedan. |

I agree with Ingo; it's a 2-door sedan. I don't know if merc108 is still with us, but it's worth mentioning that the Cortina had a broader Knudsen-Nase than the Taunus. |
