Irish Morris builds started in 1934 with Eight Series I, but this a Cambridgeshire plate. |

This is not an Eight. The quoted engine cc indicates an Eight, but the car is definitely a Minor. The production line was changed from Minor to Eight Series 1 in August 1934. The Minor was offered originally with an ohc 847cc engine, but a sv version of identical bore and stroke was made available in the April 1931 fabric and coachbuilt saloons and then in the 1932 £100 two-seater, so, unless the engine had been changed for the later Eight, it should be 847cc. I don’t know if the 918cc engine is a direct replacement for the 847 cc one, it seems unlikely. -- Last edit: 2023-08-05 15:07:48 |
