The car is not all correctly restored (or worse could be all wrong we can't know..) but most details point to a 1979+ rather than 1981+ 2000. Has seats with seatbelt guides, flush handles and the badge of course. Though these large hubcaps belong to 1750 and earlier Spiders. Perhaps that licence plate shows the car as a 1981?
