Barnato drove a Speed Six in the 1929 and 1930 races. There are 2 4.5 litres with registration nos beginning with N, and 4 6.5 litres. The pictures I have found of the Le Mans cars do not look like the subject car at all. -- Last edit: 2023-09-17 22:24:27 |

4.5 litre cars NF8943 Freestone and Webb Saloon NF8945 VdP 4seat tourer, no picture available. All four 6.5 litres with N as first letter are saloons. The best I can offer is that it looks like a 4.5 litre engine, (or a 3-litre) and possibly a VdP tourer, but unable to go further on these, I shall look at the 3-litres tomorrow. -- Last edit: 2023-09-17 23:31:48 |

In the 1982 BDC members list I have found 24 more cars, I am going to check these out. All of these have 2 letter registrations beginning N, and are 3-litre, except 2 x 3/4.5 and one MkVI. The BDC member who responded to me has a 1963 “Members and their Bentleys”. He is going to look for registrations beginning with N. My stuff only goes back to 1982. He did think it was probably a 3-litre and that the stuff about Barnato was just make-believe for the film. btw, the car in the picture has a BDC badge on the front. -- Last edit: 2023-09-19 20:49:09 |

We already investigated that, Gamer, I think he was talking about the steering wheel he gave to Burt Kwok. This car is far from a 500 dollar lemon, Vintage Bentleys now cost a lot more than some of the new ones, and although there are more and more each year, many of them are not as old as they seem. All you need is a number plate and a gear lever knob, start from there and work upwards.
