1974! C'est même une Century Luxus. |

That car at the time belonged to Kevin Smith |

It wasn't a bad looking car at all. Certainly no beater. |

It is mentionned as a 1976 on IMDB, which one is right? |

I think this is actually a 1976 model, check out the 5th thumbnail I posted. I think the '74 model has a different front to this. |

The 1974 Century (and Regal) had 2 round headlamps. |

This is a 76 Buick Century. The Century Luxus was only offered in 1974. Possibly 73 also, but I know for sure it was not offered in '75. |

Co-producer Scott Mossier, in the anniversary DVD packaging, described this car as "Kevin Smith's piece of shit brown Buick," and claims it caught fire and burned completely a few months after the film was made. |

It's a 1977 Century Custom. |

Kojak is right! What a ugly body style and a great pick for this film! The nadir of US car manufacturing. Low compression v8 crapmoblie. |

Au contraire! Have always liked the sedan models in this body and their somewhat retro rounded look. Looks sleek to me! |

Agreed. I've always dug the "Colonnade" era (1973-1977) General Motors A-bodies. |

Actually it's even worse. You can see when it pulls up to the store there's a V6 badge on the front fender, indicating it had the Buick 231 and all 110 hp, or 3 more than my Echo. ![]() -- Last edit: 2014-02-24 12:43:11 |
