I don´t know what Mk it is with this grille? I´ll add some more pics of it later, imageshack is very slow at the moment. It´s seen as background car also, with other plates, and with two different plates as the characters vehicle. As far as I can see it´s all the same car. |

This grille was used on the 1300 GT. With a 4-door body and this trim, it could be a 1972 1100 or 1300 MkIII only sold for a few months there or even a Spanish-made Austin de Luxe with a 998cc engine and sold in Denmark in 1975. Nevertheless, from what I know, both had different grilles, but the shape of the inner rear view mirror makes me think it's most probably a de Luxe. -- Last edit: 2008-07-14 21:13:38 |

Wasn´t this type of grille also on the Austin America? Not suggesting that this is one. The filming was done in Århus and it´s supposed to take place in the sixties so the car is correctly numbered with licenseplates beginning with XB belonging to this area up till about 1968 before the system was computerized. Århus area was among the last ones to keep their specific area code. So both the XB plates would be fake, but probably the plates beginning with EB belongs to this car. This would probably make it a 1975 Austin de Luxe as rpcm suggests. But I´m not all that good on danish licenses to be certain. |

Indeed, the last ones ( 1971/72 models ) used a similar one. The 1968/70 Americas had a grille that was similar ( not completely identical, I suppose ) to the Austin 1300 MkII one. |

Grille is not the same as the Austin de Luxe shown at http://www.aronline.co.uk/blogs/2011/10/02/austin-de-luxe/ which has the 3-close bar 1300 Mk3 grille and a red Austin badge in top surround. However http://www.aronline.co.uk/blogs/2011/07/19/bmc-11001300-danish-variations/ says all UK 4 doors stopped being imported after 1972. Therefore nothing better to suggest than the de Luxe which was 4 door. |
