This car was never driven. Appear in two scene and in the second one explodes. Very sad. The explosion scene was reviewed sometimes in the movie. ![]() It's a basic model, so 316i or 318i, 1991 or 1992 model year. |

The producers probably bought the cheapest E36 they could find. Blowing up old cars makes you look like a cheapskate, so the smart thing to do is to find a cheap but reasonably new car. |

Yes, I agree. |

The explosion was reused in the television show "Las Vegas": /vehicle_103070-BMW-3-E36.html /vehicle.php?id=103073 -- Last edit: 2007-04-30 19:47:10 |

It was also re-used in a terrible straight to video movie called "Soft Target". It's completely laughable and out of place because it's obvious by the architecture and the cobbled streets that it's somewhere in Eastern Europe, not Los Angeles where "Soft Target" is set. |

And here it is in Soft Target: /vehicle_650010-BMW-316i-E36-1991.html |

How do we know for sure that it's a 316i? The comments above are just speculation. |

^ It looks poverty - lots of grey plastic. black mirrors, cheap wheel covers, no tints, rear headrests or fogs. Was there anything lower in the food chain than 316i?? |

It may be basic, but the 316i and 318i looked the same, the only difference was the engine. So should just be listed as a 3. -- Last edit: 2022-09-09 17:29:53 |
