![]() Would this be a Navara or a Hardbody? Nissan South Africa has several different generations of pickups being built alongside each other. -- Last edit: 2008-07-19 03:19:38 |

Are they right hand drive or left hand drive? If they're LHD, they probably weren't obtained locally. -- Last edit: 2008-07-19 11:17:51 |

Nissan SA manufactures most (if not all) of the Hardbodies for Africa - LHS and RHD AFAIK. This is a hardbody 4X4 without doubt; the Navara's grille and lights differs considerably. |

This is the generation after the Hardbody known in North America as the Frontier. Obviously called something else in other countries. -- Last edit: 2008-08-29 10:20:10 |

@Citsa: the grille of Hardbody/Navara is, in my opinion, not a thing to identify them. The differences of the grille depending on the model-year, not on the model. The grilles are even the same in other Nissan 4x4-versions. After me and my wife travelled in 2006 across Namibia (4000 km total, 2800 km of them on gravel-, sand-, salt- and dust-roads) in a 2003 Hardbody, I've started to look for these models. The name "Hardbody" I've only seen in Africa. In Europe all of them were names "Navara". Could the diffence be, that the 2-door-"Hardbody" has no small window behind the doors? This type I haven't seen in Europe. The Narava's over here have all this extra window. At the 4-door-version I couldn't identify clearly the specific differences. And by the way: you cannot be sure, that all of these cars, they use in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana -these three countries have left-side-traffic- are assembled in ZA. At that company: http://www.ascocarhire.com/?gclid=CNaj3c_H7ZUCFRKkXgod8B-FeA, where we got or Hardbody, I've seen some cars, which had original Japanese stickers soewhere on the windows or chassis, so they also have used, imported from Japan. My wife has always said "Hardboy" - I had to tell her "Ahem. This is something different" ![]() |
