'Ambu-Liner' were the vans converted by Snyder Ambulance Service in Van Nuys, California, from 1970 - so this is one of the first ambulances they made. Other ambulances from the Snyder-fleet are frequently seen in shows and movies. |

Yes, it's them @rjluna2 and by the livery the first one should be an Ambu-Liner, too. The other one from Mayfair also looks like one (if that boxy rear bumper is anything to go by), but I have no first hand material of the Ambu-Liners, as I'm not particularly focused on US van ambulances. There were many more ambulance converters around that offered Ford vans, with Joe Summers and Superior/ Sheller-Globe being just two of them. As far as I know the Suburbans from emergency (or at least some of them) came from the Snyder-fleet, so there was a connection with this show. Makes sense if they used further Snyder vehicles, even from other ambulance services who bought their Ambu-Liners. My gut feeling suggests Summers Coach of Texas may have been involved in the making of the Ambu-Liners or possibly even built them for Snyder, but that's just an idea right now, supported by the following historical note and the fact Snyder operated ambulances built by Summers' Trinity Coach Co.. -- Last edit: 2024-01-07 17:48:20 |
