FYI, I didn't add the "Made for RI" myself (& the year or production of this car), maybe one of the admins/someone that can edit?

But nevertheless here's something interesting.

From what I've known, Austin in Indonesia had a sole distributor: Vennootschap Java Motors Import Corporation NV (and some variations on the naming as the time goes seen on its advertisements, but the point is "Java Motors" name is present all those years), this company was founded in 09 February 1949. This sole company is responsible of almost all British brands that were being marketed here, namely: Morris, Land Rover, Rover, Jaguar, Leyland, MG, Triumph, etc including the Austin brand.

There was NO documented advertisement about Austin A40 Devon (so far), but the other variants of A40 like the Countryman or Somerset are present.

 ^ Fascinating info. What you've called A40 Somerset is an A35 (I think - looks bigger rear window than A30) with strange moustache-like side grilles - maybe a pretend Somerset for the advert??

Wow, I'll never notice that if you didn't pointed it out :lol: I myself never seen an A35 Austin with this fascia before, only the A40 Somerset (even though A70 had an ad here, its very very rare to stumble upon one. Meanwhile the Somerset dominates the streets based on old Indonesian traffic photos, they're everywhere). For now I'll agree on the edit/pretend theory because I had no idea about this exact model. Anyone? :D
