I suspect this is Made for Movie. At first I thought maybe a pimped Land-Rover, but only the windscreen really looks like a Landy. The road wheels aren't from a GAZ-69, which was a more likely candidate. -- Last edit: 2008-08-08 22:46:45 |

nope...that long bonnet, and low slung headlights and different grille identify it as a P2M...the earlier version ..the P3 replaced this one ..the P2M bodywork was patterned on the wartime VW Kubel, whereas the P3 body was more UAZ styled in appearance. |

Yes, this 4x4 vehicle is a Sachsenring P2M built on East Germany on mid-50's. Commonly used by the East German Army (NVA) and Fire fighters (Feuerwehr). The P3 were the next series of military jeeps and were built on early 60's decade. IFA (Industrie-vereinigung Volkseigener Fahrzeugwerke) was a collective property and State owned union of East German veihcle manufacturers. As an example: Wartburg, DKW, Horch, Sachsenring, Robur,... Some photos of the P2M: http://www.film-autos.com/fundus/fahrzeug/index.php?fz_id=89 -- Last edit: 2008-08-09 17:20:28 |
