Yes, by the not too much early color in the US market I would guess a 2002. -- Last edit: 2024-02-19 15:32:13 |

Please state the reason for your guess, what might be obvious to you might not be as obvious to the rest of us. Ever since I almost bought a 1600 Neue Klasse I've been interested in old BMW models so this made me thinking. The BMW E10 came in various variants as follows: 1600-2, 1502, 1602, 1802 and 2002 not counting their surname (Touring, ti, tii etc), so I wonder why the rest are not as likely. After some research I found this page https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/271293-2002s-in-usa/ (U.S. site about E 10 models) which only mentions the variants 1600-2, 1602 and 2002. The posted answer from December 6, 2020 state figures of 13.162 cars of the models 1600-2 and 1602 and 93.357 or 97.360 of all the 2002 models. That's about 112.520 of them in total. But I'm not sure if this is counting the USA only, and not Canada. And does that mean the 1802 and the 1502 never made it to 'over there'? |

personally i've heard only of 1602/2002 but i can't affirm for sure that the others never got here |

Looks like extended US front bumper = 73 for 74 my, so would be 2002. But a tight squeeze for film date. |

Slightly different view if it'll help:![]() |

Still seeing the big bumper so would have to be 2002 - there were no smaller-engined 02s in US after 1971. |
