As far as I understand this bus belongs to the 'Southdown Motor Services' which in 1969 became part of the 'National Bus Company', and it's the latters emblem that is visible below 5004 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southdown_Motor_Services . When searching I found this http://www.modelbuszone.co.uk/efe/dd/237/24203.html model which lead me to https://www.flickr.com/photos/9003948@N05/37569303362 . I believe that means it's a Daimler Fleetline with an Alexander body. |

When searching for the registration number GCN806G I found it was new 3/1969 to 'Northen General' Link to "www.buslistsontheweb.co.uk" . It's thus a 1969 Daimler Dr Fleetline CRG6LX with chassis number 63084 with an Alexander 53A/2368/4 body. I'm not sure but 2368/4 might be that it was built in week (or order) 23 in 1968 and that it was bus number 4 out of 15 in that batch. -- Last edit: 2024-04-16 13:13:30 |
