To me this is not a 1942 but a 1941 Lincoln Continental. The first thumnail shows the 1940/1941 style front bumper with the 2 small open bars between the overriders. It also shows the small parking lights on top of the front fenders a characteristic of the 1941 cars. The second thumbnail shows the brownish colored steering wheel of 40/41. 1942 Lincolns had light cream yellowish steering wheels. The fourth thumbnail shows the more rounded front fenders of the pre 1942 cars ,by 1942 and up to 1948 the front fenders became boxed with a flatter upper plane. There is also a small Lincoln script under the rearview mirror absent on 1942 cars.On the fifth thumbnail one can also see the small parking lights on top of the front fenders from 1941. |
