Recently I've been having doubts about how these FLT/FLA models were classified, to the point where I visited salvage yards in my areas to decode the VIN numbers off of any I could find. It's been relatively accepted that the FLA was introduced in 1984, but after all these years, I've learned that this is not the case. The FLA was not introduced until the 1989 Model Year, when the original FLT cab was redesigned to fit inline with the FLD that came out at the same time. I've been going through every single FLT/FLA model on this site for about two weeks now to remedy this, and once I've finished I'll post it all on the IMCDB forums as I did with the WFT models. For this one though. 4x2 drive, 86-inch BBC length, Tractor. -> Freightliner FLT 86 42 T
