Too small to be a Maj Maj or even a simple Maj. My vote is 54+ Conquest Century MkI - Century for chrome screen trim and horizontal strips on boot; not a MkII as simple bumper instead of double profile; not one of the Regencys, as these had wider axles which meant stubs protruded beyond the wheels so heavily domed hubcaps. Comments?? |

Yes, a Conquest Century MkI (DJ256). As an aside, the Mk2 did not wear 'double bumpers'. |

^ Ooops - I misread something elsewhere - it was the Regency Mk2 which had double bumper profile?? |

Regency II, Regency Sportsman,One-0-Four, 4-Light saloon, DK400, Majestic, Majestic Major, & 2 1/2 litre V8. A good 'pointer' with 6-light Empress coachwork is that if it doesn't wear 'double' bumpers, then it is most likely 3-litre. Generally, the 1967 - 1969 V8-250s have a single profile bumper, except for the very earliest cars which carried over the bumper profile from the 2 1/2 litre V8s. Typical Daimler: clear as mud.... -- Last edit: 2024-05-21 20:46:33 |
