Yes - it's supposed to be London at this point, but it's clearly Hong Kong. When the camera pans to the left we see the Husky and the mountaineous surroundings of Kai Tak. |

As discussion here, these Thrupp & Maberley Special Enclosed Drive Landaulets seem to have been built 1948 to mid-50s on S2 and S3 Pullmans, mainly for royal use (including various Commonwealth tours) but probably also distributed to Commonwealth Governors. Impossible to attribute this one's identity any further, except that it's unlikely to be from the 1951 commissioned batch for George VI's planned 1952 Australia tour, as these ware reported as staying there. Might as well stick with 1952 S3 ID as entered, as it keeps both our sightings together, but any new info about this HK emigrant welcome. |
