It can be a 1969+ 220 D Lang [W115] or a 230 Lang [W114]. Since the action takes place in Portugal, it's most probably a 220 D. |

I don't like to guess with Mercedes engine sizes but in this case maybe we'll have to. But how come being in Portugal makes it more likely to be a 220D? -- Last edit: 2008-09-04 01:03:24 |

Until recently, there was a huge difference of price between petrol and diesel fuels in Portugal. Very few petrol versions of the models that had an alternative diesel version were sold. The /8 Mercedes is a good example: it was a very popular model here ( although not in this Lang version ) and these 1968+ cars were almost all 220 D, very few were 220 or 250 petrol-engined versions and even some of these were later converted to diesel with new engines. |
