Main: LVX 942J started as a 1971 works entry on the 1971 East African Safari (Joghinder Singh, rtd) then various events 71-72. Became Roger Clark's main car in 72, until he rolled it in front of cameras in Oct 72 when making "Our Man Clark" publicity documentary. Plate then switched to a new bodyshell with rebuilt oily bits including brand new 2-litre fuel injection engine - basically a new car - for 1972 RAC, which he famously won with Tony Mason as illustrated. TLO 747G in thumb was a London issue Nov 68-July 69, so not a works car. Likely a private Twin Cam on whichever UK event at the time. |
