Big Daimlers - such as "35 hp" and upwards - still had these split windscreens in 1930, but lesser models didn't .... |

I cannot see the 'fluted' grille so typical of the Daimlers. |

I think it is either a camera trick, or camera failure. The car looks very Daimler to me. |

Yes, a Daimler. Looks to be a 1929 35/120. The appearance of the grille and positioning of the headlamps, together with the registration mark seem to support this. |

Why 1930? This has gone from a complete "Unknown" to 1930, which it most certainly is not. |

^ possible plate date. Why 1929, with 1930 off the table?? |

Because the front end changed appearance in late 1929. From then on, the headlamps were of the "Tulip" type, and mounted with a cross brace from wing to radiator surround. The surround itself is also different. Hopefully this link will illustrate the appearance of the later cars: https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/17264/lot/522/ -- Last edit: 2024-07-24 00:24:00 |

. Brian Smith's bible also suggests there was a name change for 1930 to 35hp, so let's keep things simple .... |
