It's, indeed, an MG A and the separated indicators above the rear lights identify a 1959+ 1600 MkI. |

1959 was 1500 and Twin Cam. MGA 1600 MkI was tagged as "1960 and 1961". MGA 1600 MkII was tagged "1962" although production run began in early 1961...ran for about 15 - 18 months before they retooled for the new MGB. The dual tail/stop/signal lights were unique to the MkI. The MkII tail lights came from the Morris Minor production run, and were turned 90 deg from how they were mounted on the Morris. |

The MG A 1600 MkI was introduced in May 1959. I guess that you're just referring to the US, since it's not considered 1960MY in Europe. |
