 Too similar to be just a coincidence, im sure it is just another take of the Vanilla Sky crash, they could have changed the car for the crash scene.

 This IS unused footage from Vanilla Sky. I remember seeing both versions of the crash, the failed one seen here and the one that made it in Vanilla Sky, as they were available as stock footage on the now-defunct BBC Motion Gallery.

No they did not. The crashed car is also a Buick
