Interesting, this T-34 and the other one listed are likely well-made fakes, as the time period and the filming location would've made it very unlikely for them to have gotten real Soviet tanks. Considering T-34s are usually used as a platform for building other WWII tanks, it is interesting to see such a role reversal. -- Last edit: 2008-10-18 01:59:52 |

@badlymad: for a few years after WWII Austria was also occupied by the Allied nations -to be seen here: /movie.php?id=41959- (like Germany until 1955 and Berlin until 1990), so there was also a Soviet sector. But probably the Russian have taken their stuff with them, when they had left Austria. -- Last edit: 2008-10-18 08:14:39 |

T34/85...late war larger 85mm gun turret as opposed to early pattern streamlined 76mm turret...when the movie was made, the T34 was on the Austrian armys inventory as one of their main battle tanks..so it was a then "current" Austrian military vehicle!!, not a repro movie prop. -- Last edit: 2008-10-19 21:57:56 |
