1965 entry for Rauno Aaltonen/Clive Baker (#48, registered DNX 416C although it raced without number plates) was leading its class and the Index of Thermal Efficiency until its distributor drive failed with about 20 laps remaining. Team-mates Paul Hawkins and John Rhodes in #49 (DNX 415C) inherited the class lead to finish 12th overall and 3rd in the Thermal Index; both cars arrived at Le Mans in a vivid lime green, but the organisers insisted on a repaint to something nearer the national British Racing Green, hence a hasty switch to a muddy dull green. Exem 1:43 model from 20(?) years ago - a bit flimsy with a few rough bits, but it's totally cute. ![]() |
