The Mercedes 240D was available in the U.S. between 1974-1983. Poor Mercedes, got a nasty dent in the back! ![]() -- Last edit: 2008-10-28 00:59:47 |

I guess that M-B never officially sold a 240 D Turbo Diesel. In the US, the [W123] Diesel saloons were offered as 240 D, 300 D (1977+) and 300 D Turbo Diesel (1982+). By the all-white headlights, this is a pre-1980 car. |

Then since this 240D Turbodiesel is a pre-1980 model, then I can assume that the earliest year this Mercedes could be is 1977. |

As rpcm wrote (and Wikipedia, too): there was no 240 D Turbodiesel at the W123-series. So one of the badges is wrong. @karoomay: 1976 was the first year of the W 123, released in December 1975. |

Since the 300 D Turbo Diesel first model year was 1982 and this car has pre-1980 headlights, I guess it must be a 1977+ 240 D - 1977 was its first model year in the US. |

*** stars definitely. |

With the respective reputations of W123 Mercedes ('carved from a solid block of steel') and Ford Probes, I was almost ready to believe that this crash was faked. I can't believe the back end folded up like that! |

Just some reinforcement to the front of the Probe, I'm sure. -- Last edit: 2013-12-23 18:58:45 (G-MANN) |

1983 only (1983+ waterchannel inner, wider on A-pillar yet but chromed antenna grummet stil). |
