This scene was the reenactment of the main raid on the Japanese Prison Of War Camp at Cabanatuan City in the Nueva Ecija Province of Japanese Occupied Philippines that occurred on the evening of the 30th January 1945.

The raid resulted in the rescue of 552 Allied POWs and the deaths of over 530 Japanese soldiers, two US soldiers, and two POWS with the wounding of four US Soldiers and nine Filipino Guerillas.

Out of the 552 POWs who were rescued, there were:

492 Americans - 464 soldiers and 28 civilians.

Among them was Clare Philips (known as "High Pockets") who used her gentleman's club as a front to gain intelligence from the Japanese soldiers to send to the rescue party, and to smuggle supplies to the POWs, captured by the Kempeitai (the Japanese Military Police) in 1944, after one of her runners was caught and tortured for the information.

23 British - 22 soldiers and 1 civilian.

Three Dutch - All soldiers.

Two Norwegians - Both civilians.
