By what is possible to see ( position of the bumper ) and understand ( it seems to have a single exhaust pipe ) I would say it's, at least, a 1975 Convertible. |

nice shade of blue. Is that a VW factoy spec color? |

I think it was called "Olympic blue". |

The colour of the car is very rough and gone, but if it's really a metallic paintwork, it could be "anconablue-metallic", too. The quite similar "geminimetallic" wasn't available any more in 1975, as I know. -- Last edit: 2008-11-02 22:26:10 |

As I recalled, the metallic colors were available after 1976 model year, not sure ![]() |

I don't know how you can be so sure it's a mettalic paint... You must remember that US-market cars had their own specificities and the colours had different names. The blue that was available for the Convertibles was called "Laguna blue" for 1976 and "Barrier blue" for 1977/78 - and it was not a mettalic colour. As far as I know, Convertibles like the one pictured ( later ones ) only received mettalic colours by 1979 and even so I'm not sure there was somekind of blue shade. -- Last edit: 2008-11-03 01:43:52 |
