Again, the Civic hatchback had multiple engine versions. I don't know if it's possible to deduce this one has a VTEC-E engine. |

I also don't know is it possible to tell what engine it had with such views, BUT in 1996, in Poland in regular sale were available versions 1.4i, 1.6i and 1.6 iLS. During the 1997 there were 1.4iS, 1.8 VTi and 1.6iES. Possible that some dealers took special orders, but I guess, rather for something more "special". |

Besides the (eventual) rear badge, in some markets (like Italy) there were differences between motors (such as the presence of fogs and alloys), but I don't know for every country. 1997 model was the restyling, so not this one, and base model (I believe) shouldn't have fogs and painted bumpers. Anyway these were MA/MB depending on the engine. -- Last edit: 2021-01-25 16:44:10 |

True, the badges are visible, and their shapes can tell something... |

I think they are just Honda and Civic script - btw, this looks like quite high spec (fogs, alloys..) Edit: the motor badge was under the taillight: Link to "upload.wikimedia.org" -- Last edit: 2021-01-25 16:55:42 |

Cannot see if there is something else ![]() ![]() Anyway 1.5 VTEC-E should have the VTEC badge under the taillight: Link to "bparts-eu.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com" (couldn't find a better picture ![]() And very often seems to have a rear spoiler.. I believe this one plays the same role: /v374361.html Though no alloys this time ![]() -- Last edit: 2021-01-25 17:05:37 |
