By the triangular window on the rear side (better visible here: /vehicle_202646-Chevrolet-Corvette-0867-1961.html ) this will be a 1949 or 1950 model, not a 1951. The wagon was only sold in the Custom trim. In 1951 it got a 'real' name: Country Squire, but this is still just Custom. The side strip on the front fender is not original. -- Last edit: 2008-11-29 11:46:12 |

This is not a 1949 Ford : those had slab sides and flat wood panels .This one has distinct fznders and curved wood panels .It is a 1949 Mercury Station Wagon model 79.The side strip on the front fender is strictly stock Mercury. Fords had only a small chrome motif between the wood panel and the front wheel arch. |
