WOW! Very impressive! How can you tell the coachbuilder and model from just a front shot? |

By method of elimination. ![]() Step one: Coachbuilder? The shape of the vinyl roof and the upper portion of the passenger door clearly give away a Superior body. The vinyl roofs of Miller-Meteor coaches don't have a step from the windshield to the doors, S&S coaches haven't either and show a totally different windshield framing. Eureka had been out of business since 1964 and hadn't yet reappeared in 1976. Step two: Landau or limousine? If it was a limousine coach, we'd see more of the interior -> rear quarter panels appear to be closed -> landau coach, Superior calls them "Landaulet". Step three: Now we have a Superior Landaulet, but which one? The vinyl roof reaches the windshield, so it's not a Crown model, but the Sovereign. I can NOT see, if this is a standard Sovereign Landaulet or a Sovereign Regal Landaulet with additional windows in the quarter panels. As long as I have just the front shot, I can only tell that this is at least a plain Sovereign Landaulet. -- Last edit: 2008-12-18 02:54:34 |
