This is a pretty awesome Lincoln...the fins and the convertible option being what I find the most alluring. I can't tell if that's Mason and Della Street in the car...or other people in the episode. If it is Mason, I know he also drove a couple 58 or 59 Lincolns too, and I actually like that style the best ("cat's eye" allignment of the headlights). But, besides the 58 or 59 this is probably my second favorite Lincoln in an episode. |

This shot is about three minutes into Episode 9 of Season 1 (episode 1.09), "The Case of the Vagabond Vixen" (originally aired 16 Nov 57). The driver is Paul Cavanagh (as Edgar Ferrell) and the passenger is Carol Leigh (as Veronica Dale). The Lic No of this car actually comes up later in the show. A '57 Continental MkII also appears in this episode (also shown on this site at /vehicle_205068-Continental-Mark-II-60A-1957.html ). A '57 Mercury in the episode is also shown on this site at /vehicle_205070-Mercury-Montclair-1957.html , with blonde Carol Leigh again. The production crew of this Perry Mason episode appears to have been confused between the "Continental" and "Lincoln" marques because there was a problem with a prop "Vehicle Registration" showing Lic No KYL 907 as belonging to the Continental rather than the Lincoln. For more, see http://www.perrymasontvseries.com/wiki/index.php/EpisodePages/Show9 . Perry Mason drives a black 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner in this episode. |

this isn't Perry Mason and Della I have seen almost all of the old ones, in the 50s I only saw him driving a Ford convertible or Cadillac convertible , depended on if GM or Ford was the sponsor that night , didn't see him in a a Lincoln Continental till a 1960 episode , where he was in a white 60 Continental convertible then in 61 he drove Lincoln Continental 4dr Convertibles till about 65 when Cadillacs started showing up again. Always wondered why Ford didn't put him in a Lincoln instead of a ford, since he was a successful attorney in the 50s, loved the 58 and 59 black Cadillac convertibles he drove -- Last edit: 2021-11-13 03:29:11 |
