So it is really a Biscayne and not an Impala? So are you saying they kept the Biscayne name past 1972 in Candada? Beucase in the US 1972 was the last year... |

That is correct Canada uses this series until 1975 as described at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Biscayne#End_of_the_model . Same manner with Canadian Chevrolet Bel Air until 1981 as described at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Bel_Air . |

Yes, the Bel Air and Impala models were more common but there were still some Biscaynes sold here. The newest one I saw was a 1974 and that was many years ago. My great uncle who was a Catholic priest had a 1978 Bel Air when he died in the early eighties. He was driving fast and scared old ladies on the street that's named after him! This scene was a reenactment of the murders of Rangers, Médéric Cote and Ernest Saint-Pierre who were shot by Mesrine and his partner; Jean-Paul Mercier during a routine stop in a forest near Plessisville in L'Érable Regional County Municipality of Quebec on the afternoon of 10th September 1972. According to the Royal Canadian Mountain Police, Mesrine and Mercier along with Mercier's girlfriend were heading back to their hideout after spending the afternoon doing some target practise when they were stopped by Cote and Saint-Pierre and ask to search Mesrine's car, during the rangers' search, they found guns in the car and told Mesrine and Mercier to follow them to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Wildlife station at Plessisville, while Mesrine was trying to talk out going with the rangers to the ranger station, Cote, possibly alerted by the sight of the guns suddenly recognized Mesrine and Mercier, leading to Mesrine and Mercier to shoot and kill the rangers. -- Last edit: 2022-12-31 08:09:24 |
