I just looked these up on the Mack website. About 4500 were supplied to the US military in WW1 in three sizes - 3 1/2 ton, 5 1/2 ton and 7 1/2 ton. As well 2000 were supplied to Britain. This truck looks to be the bigger model. http://www.macktrucks.com/default.aspx?pageid=255 |

An interesting picture showing the vehicle in "as used" condition, whereas we only see immaculate preserved items these days. Look at the amount of slack in the visible drive chain and think of the noise the whole thing must have made! |
