My mechanic is recommissioning one for a customer after a 10 year lay-up, it's never been crashed or abused but you could drive a Range Rover through the panel gaps. |

You wouldn't have to push it far, I doubt the Lotus would start either ![]() |

Simpler just to replace the body with one from a Citroen Dyane van |

I used to read a mag called Retro Cars which every so often came up with a bizarre combination like that Citroen Lotus. My favourite was a fairly standard-looking grey 1986 Skoda Estelle 105 Lux with a tuned Mazda RX-7 engine which apparently could eat Jags for breakfast. I remember the article saying something along the lines of it being a perfect fit as it was a compact and lightweight transplant, and I thought it was an inspired bit of lateral thinking. The linked (early 2007) sales description said " .... this is a tough car to drive, but very rewarding. If you have a long distance to get home, I recommend trailering it – it's loud, noisy, and nothing short of dangerous .. why I love it so much." Apparently it sold for £2,499 and C766 VLP has vanished from plate info trail after mid-2007, although DVLA info says it was exported. I wonder where it landed ..... -- Last edit: 2017-08-20 01:23:23 |
