How did they get all those brandnew American cars up there in Finland in the 1920s? Were they preferred over European/local makes? Russia right next door as well. |

In Finland (and Scandinavia) well over 90% of cars bought were American. Very few European cars were sold. I guess they were just too expensive because of smaller manufacturing capacity. In the 1920's only Fiat, Citroen and Peugeot managed to sell some quantities. American brands controlled the car market untill the 1940's. |

They certainly don't look cheaper than the average Peugeot or Citroen of that era, but that's probably it. I actually don't know what the situation would have been in Belgium at the time. Mostly bicycles I'm guessing. |

Why would this be made for Finland if it was filmed entirely in the US? Is the next car I identify going to be "made for D" as well? |
