Actually, it's a Scammell Handyman tractor (same cab as the Routeman 8-wheeler), and was new to Standard Motor Transport of Kidderminster |

You are absolutely right. I went by the link I gave above, in which this truck was wrongly named 'Routeman'. As you said the 'Routeman' has the same cab but an 8x4 chassis, while the 'Handyman' is a 4x2 artic tractor unit. For comparison a 'Routeman': |

Actually, I just happen to know the lorry! If I were to be really anorak, I'd say that you could tell from the photo because the axle is set forward whereas it's set back on the Routeman..... OK - I'll get my coat! |
