It doesn't show it in the movie, Deke is just riding his bike down the street and there are tons of mutilated and murdered bodys. I think that the Bug just hit the tree and the guy might have leaned out of the window and just died. Or, he could have hit the tree and the Beatle's window rolled up and choked him to death and rolled itself back down. |

А Beetle is also mentioned in the original novel in a flashback - one of the trucks pushes it off the road, it flips several times and then explodes. |
