Large Heavy-Duty Ambulance. Are most rapid response Mobile Intensive Care Units large like that? I found a similar type of MIC Ambulance which is large also. http://www.hmc.psu.edu/cmn/events/pdfs/ambulanceflyer.pdf -- Last edit: 2009-03-02 05:40:52 |

Oh and I can’t find a Murray Hill Hospital. The only one I keep running across is a Manhattan based Murray Hill Veterinary Hospital. I doubt a pet hospital would have a ambulance of that caliber ... |

Well, you have the NYPD's Mounted Units, and those horses that give carrige rides in Central Park. Although I think an ambulance like this would be too small for those. When I think of Murray Hill, I think of two places; Queens between Flushing & Auburndale, and the vicinity of WPIX, Channel 11. I'm getting the same trouble as you, and the only non-Animal hospital I can find in the vicinity is Bellevue/NYU Medical Center. -- Last edit: 2012-07-31 21:50:12 (Ford_Guy) |

It appears to be a mid-1990s to early 2000s International 4300 or 4700. While there are hospital-based ambulance services in New York, it appears that the Murray Hill Hospital livery is fictional. Most ambulances are either basic life support (BLS) or advanced life support (ALS) units. Mobile intensive care units (MICU) are usually based on a larger truck chassis/platform, rather than the usual van platform. International and Freightliner seem to be the most popular for that. A Type I ambulances is usually based on a pick-up platform like the Ford F-Series. However, the same chassis-cab layout is usually used on the medium and heavy duty trucks, like International and Freightliner. The Ford E-Series seems to be the most popular van platform for Type II and Type III ambulances. Type II ambulances seem to be more popular with hospital-based ambulance services, and Type III ambulances seem to be more popular with government (fire department) ambulance services. -- Last edit: 2009-03-02 07:46:34 |

These vehicles are parked in a cage in New Milford, CT now. I've posted photos of them on my Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/38734842@N04/ There are 4 copies of the cruiser in various states of crashed, as well as the Ambulance and motorcycles. |

This ambulance used to be a 911 service ambulance in Bucks County, PA, we utilized this size vehicle due to the space that was offered, and many companies still use these types of ambulances. I currently am a Paramedic for the company in which retired this ambulance about a year ago and i was astonished to see it become a hollywood stunt vehicle. |

The ambulance should get a ** role because it hits the Dodge Charger. |
